I am currently working at Next, earning roughly 500/600 a month by working 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). This is great at the moment as the only payments I am making is towards petrol for my car, nights out and for food/drink if I need it when I am not at home.
The great thing about working here is that I can be transferred when I go to university and be able to earn money. I will have to work less as I am unsure if I will have as much time when I get to uni. However it is better then not having a job at all. This is a job that I know I will definitely have, and plus I get paid weekly so the money is always coming in, in a way so that is nice. And it’ll help me be able to spread it out and also not completely run out.
For a second possible job, I think I will have to work in retail or hospitality due to it being quite hard to get a job in the music industry with very little experience. Maybe a nearby pub, or a restaurant near my student house/place of study. I could work as a sales consultant at another retailer like Next.
For a third job, I am looking to go into the music business, unlike most people who just hope to perform, so I could possibly get an internship on the side. And that would definitely be something I am interested in. For example, I could work for a small record label or a PR company in Brighton (where I am going for university) and shadow someone to learn how the industry works and what a job in a place like that will entail. I could get given tasks to complete to help them.
